Viking Octantis is Viking's Polar Class 6 expedition ship, purpose-built for Antarctica, the Arctic and North America's Great Lakes. Every stateroom has a king bed and a Nordic Balcony that lowers into an open viewing platform, and the ship carries zodiacs, kayaks, Special Operations Boats and two six-guest submarines launched from The Hangar, an enclosed in-ship marina. Days combine guided landings with citizen science in the onboard Science Lab and lectures in The Aula, a panoramic auditorium at the stern. Five dining venues, a Nordic Spa with snow grotto, three pools under a retractable dome and a resident expedition team of 36 experts complete the experience.
